Girls Rugby at Ramsay
Due to the rise in popularity of rugby at Sir William Ramsay, the girls are now itching to get involved.

Two years ago, the current Year 10 girls got together a tag rugby team and entered into their first local tournament. They were runners up to Princes Risborough and as a result went on to represent Sir William Ramsay at the Bucks Youth Games. They won the first rugby trophy for the school and it sits pretty in the Sir William Ramsay trophy cabinet.

Since then the school has gone on to achieve great success within the sport and each boys team is going from strength to strength. As a result there will be training held every Tuesday after school for girls of any age. Training will be held by Miss Le Count and will run from 3 – 4:15pm.

A new rugby top has just been bought for the girls’ rugby teams and will be modelled by the first group of girls we get at training. (Photograph will follow in next month’s issue). The kit is the same design as the London Wasps kit as we wanted to show our close links with the club and also our appreciation for what they are doing for rugby not only at our school but in the local community. We only have the tops at present but are trying to raise money for the rest of the kit.
